“Becoming a writer is about becoming conscious. When you’re conscious and writing from a place of insight and simplicity and real caring about the truth, you have the ability to throw the lights on for your reader. He or she will recognize his or her life and truth in what you say, in the pictures you have painted, and this decreases the terrible sense of isolation that we all had too much of”- Ann Lamott, Bird By Bird.
Here, you will find existential reflections, accounts of my mental disorders, slices of life in Christchurch, mad projects, a few pieces of advice, and my favorite stories- the funny ones.
God I spoil you.
Miss you! Hope you’re doing well. :)
Hey Jill! Miss you too. I don’t have as much time to comment as i used to but I keep checking your blog regularly. I update my other blog more often if you want to have a look at http://thecluepress.wordpress.com. I just made a video and would love to hear your expert comments on it :-)
A little shout-out for Cecile! Do what you will with the award part. Just wanted to thank you for a fabulous blog. http://theusualbliss.com/2013/02/23/a-husbands-perspective/
He Cecile, haha, it’s easier in English, so let’s leave French for when we meet again… This is so great, what you do here. In a way, we are a bit collegues, very different but still. Who would have thought this 25 yrs ago:)
Thnx for sharing. Do you plan to stay in Zurich or are you moving elsewhere? Just curious ’cause we (my love and I) plan to visit Swiss and Italy this summer. So maybe…
Take care and keep on writing
Thanks, Nynke :-)
I just moved to New Zealand with my fiancé Nick so we won’t be able to meet up in Zurich for a while I’m afraid. If you ever have plans to visit New Zealand, please let me know!
Hmmm, plans, would love to. However, not realistic at the moment. Have a great time and who knows… In the meantime I’ll read your stories. Take care
I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award! Can’t wait for your return!

Cécile — hope you’re settling well into your new kiwi lifestyle. I’ve been waiting patiently for a new post about what’s going on down under to no avail. Then I thought maybe you needed a reminder that there are people wondering how you’re doing, so please don’t forget your bloggy friends! h
I just got back from Australia actually! I met my sister who is on a work and holiday visa there at the moment for a little holiday.
Good to see my bloggy friends are waiting for updates :-). I only had my iphone in Australia and the reader thingy didn’t work, so I’m looking forward to catching up on all I’ve missed the last ten days!
Thank you for the Ann Lamott quote and now I understand your blog title. I also adore your wit…thanks for spoiling us, Cecile :)

I think you have a good conscious look about you ;).
You do spoil us ;)
hello
Bonjour Cecile,
J’ai découvert ton blog via l’article que t’avais écrit pour Expatica – Trying to be Conscious: How to look French, que j’ai trouvé intéressant et rigolo.
Cécile, I’ve nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Check it out: http://definingwonderland.com/2012/08/31/inspirational-princesses-and-bloggers/ Oh, and I might be coming to Zürich for a day or two in December. Hopefully, we can meet up if I make it out there. :)
Another award coming from you! You spoil me, thank you Jessica. What would bring you to Zürich? In any case, I’d love to meet you so let me know!

You live in Zurich! So great :D
Yes, Zürich is a pretty cool city to live in. Thanks for stopping by!
Cécile, I have nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award! http://definingwonderland.wordpress.com/2012/05/25/you-like-me-you-really-like-me/
Thank you for such an enjoyable blog! xoxo
Aww, thank you Jessica :-) I enjoy your stories so I really appreciate this award coming from you <3
Hi Cécile! Thanks so much for the follow – I look forward to getting to know you better! :)
Thanks Madgayman! Your blog must be super popular with search-terms on google… I enjoyed reading it so far, looking forward to reading more.
Hi Cecile! I am not smart enough to know how I can place an accent mark on the “e” in your name. I’m sorry. However, I did want to thank you for following my blog. I read a few of your posts and I love them. I cannot tell you why “gay yoga class” makes people come to your blog. Maybe because you’re super hip and make people feel relaxed!? Anyhow, thank you nonetheless!
