About

“Becoming a writer is about becoming conscious. When you’re conscious and writing from a place of insight and simplicity and real caring about the truth, you have the ability to throw the lights on for your reader. He or she will recognize his or her life and truth in what you say, in the pictures you have painted, and this decreases the terrible sense of isolation that we all had too much of”- Ann Lamott, Bird By Bird.

This is how I look when I’m trying to be conscious

Here, you will find existential reflections, accounts of my mental disorders, slices of life in Christchurch, mad projects, a few pieces of advice, and my favorite stories- the funny ones.

God I spoil you.

  1. He Cecile, haha, it’s easier in English, so let’s leave French for when we meet again… This is so great, what you do here. In a way, we are a bit collegues, very different but still. Who would have thought this 25 yrs ago:)
Thnx for sharing. Do you plan to stay in Zurich or are you moving elsewhere? Just curious ’cause we (my love and I) plan to visit Swiss and Italy this summer. So maybe…
Take care and keep on writing

      • Hmmm, plans, would love to. However, not realistic at the moment. Have a great time and who knows… In the meantime I’ll read your stories. Take care

  2. Cécile — hope you’re settling well into your new kiwi lifestyle. I’ve been waiting patiently for a new post about what’s going on down under to no avail. Then I thought maybe you needed a reminder that there are people wondering how you’re doing, so please don’t forget your bloggy friends! h

    • I just got back from Australia actually! I met my sister who is on a work and holiday visa there at the moment for a little holiday.
Good to see my bloggy friends are waiting for updates :-). I only had my iphone in Australia and the reader thingy didn’t work, so I’m looking forward to catching up on all I’ve missed the last ten days!

  3. Hi!

I stumbled upon your blog via google, while doing research for my own.

I became a follower at first glance of the title! I like what you’re doing here. Very creative and inspirational :)

    Lots of luck and smiles!

  4. Bonjour Cecile,
J’ai découvert ton blog via l’article que t’avais écrit pour Expatica – Trying to be Conscious: How to look French, que j’ai trouvé intéressant et rigolo.

  6. Thanks Madgayman! Your blog must be super popular with search-terms on google… I enjoyed reading it so far, looking forward to reading more.

  7. Hi Cecile! I am not smart enough to know how I can place an accent mark on the “e” in your name. I’m sorry. However, I did want to thank you for following my blog. I read a few of your posts and I love them. I cannot tell you why “gay yoga class” makes people come to your blog. Maybe because you’re super hip and make people feel relaxed!? Anyhow, thank you nonetheless!

What do you think?
